Today's Reading: Ezra 5-6 and Ps. 77
Today I'm going to comment just on one verse: "Thy way O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?" (Ps. 77:13)
I've studied the sanctuary a little bit (need to much more), but here I see such a beautiful illustration of the path of salvation. The whole purpose of Christ coming, His sacrifice, baptism and intercession on our behalf was to lead us back to God's throne to His Mercy Seat... And yet the devil's main objective it seems is roadblock our way... He is constantly seeking to keep us from believing that Christ is the way, from accepting Christ sacrifice by faith, from sanctifying our lives through the Living Water of the Word, from spending time eating the bread of life, praying, and seeking the Holy Spirit... anything He can to keep us from that Holy Place.
Tomorrow's Reading: Ezra 7-8 and Luke 4

"The darkness of the evil one encloses those who neglect to pray. The whispered temptations of the enemy entice them to sin; and it is all because they do not make use of the privileges that God has given them in the divine appointment of prayer. Why should the sons and daughters of God be reluctant to pray, when prayer is the key in the hand of faith to unlock heaven’s storehouse, where are treasured the boundless resources of Omnipotence? Without unceasing prayer and diligent watching we are in danger of growing careless and of deviating from theright path. The adversary seeks continually to obstruct the way to the mercy seat, that we may not by earnest supplication and faith obtain grace and power to resist temptation." (Steps to Christ, 93, 94.)God's Way is illustrated in the Sanctuary... it is our pathway home! Let's not allow anything to keep us from this Mercy Seat!
