Of course, this is silly! We all know that God is watching, right? But the question occurred to me as I was pondering the thoughts of walking before God, in the light of His presence: What IF we walked daily, lived daily, acted daily, breathed daily as IF He was REALLY with us in physical form…watching?
I don't know about you, but I have to be honest and say, I think I'd be more careful to be on my best behavior if He was with me in physical form. Just like when company comes to visit, I'd be sure to clean the house and put the junk away. Funny, huh! So why aren't we this way every day?
Obviously, we can't see Him, but He's watching. He's not only watching, but He's taking a record of everything we think, everything we say, and everything we should have done and didn't do! He's watching our character, not just so He can judge us or condemn us, but He's asking Himself, "Would this child be happy in Heaven with me for all eternity?"
Let me share a couple powerful inspiring quotes:
"Some would not be happy in Heaven. Could those whose lives have been spent in rebellion against God be suddenly transported to heaven and witness the high, the holy state of perfection that ever exists there—every soul filled with love, every countenance beaming with joy, enrapturing music in melodious strains rising in honor of God and the Lamb, and ceaseless streams of light flowing upon the redeemed from the face of Him who sits upon the throne—could those whose hearts are filled with hatred of God, of truth and holiness, mingle with the heavenly throng and join their songs of praise? Could they endure the glory of God and the Lamb? No, no; Years of probation were granted them [on earth] that they might form characters for heaven, but they have never trained the mind to love purity; they have never learned the language of heaven, and now it is too late." 2nd Mind Character and Personality, p. 650

"Now is the time to do thorough work for eternity. We must be humble and trustful. We must make use of every talent that God gives us. We have been blessed with great and precious light from the Word of God, and we should study how to make the best use of this light. Individually we are on test and trial. God is watching to see how we will use His great blessings." Reflecting Christ, p. 204
"Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance." Psalm 89:15
Individually we are on test and trial. God is watching to see how we will use His great blessings!
So as we move into another day, it is my prayer that we will truly walk in the Light of His countenance HERE, that we may enjoy the Light of His countenance THERE!
"Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance." Psalm 89:15
