Sweet Communion with God

When you think of 'communion', what kind of picture appears in your mind?  You would probably think of partaking in the foot washing, breaking of bread, and drinking of the grape juice during communion.

The communion I am thinking of is just as profound or even more so than the symbolic service we partake in every once in awhile.

Another form of communion between man and God is of an intimate nature.  Webster dictionary says communion is the sharing or exchanging of intimate thoughts and feelings.

Sharing intimate thoughts and feelings with the God of the universe, the King of heaven is just beyond profound!  Just to think that God wants to communicate with His finite children is hard to comprehend!  What a honor!  What a privilege!  What a delight to have an opportunity to share a loving one-on-one conversation with God!

We can converse with Him our innermost secrets; for our burdens are not too heavy for Him to bear nor can we weary Him with our tears!  He rejoices with us in our joy, He contemplates us in His love!  He notices every tear, every smile, every kind word spoken, every weary, despairing soul--He sees it all.  His desire is to commune with us, to be in close proximity to us!  What an amazing, wonderful God we have!

To declare God's loving kindness in the morning, and God's faithfulness every night (Psalms 92:2) is something we can look forward to everyday!

Speaking of Jesus-- His humanity made prayer a necessity and a privilege. He found comfort and joy in communion with His Father. And if the Savior of men, the Son of God, felt the need of prayer, how much more should feeble, sinful mortals feel the necessity of fervent, constant prayer. [47] – {CSA 26.5}
