Day 336 - Audience with Christ

Today's Reading: Hosea 7-8 and Ps. 137-138

I'm always inspired afresh of our need for greater humility when I read God's Word. Listen to today's encouragement:

"Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off." (Ps. 138:6)

Who gains entrance to the heavenly courts? Who gains audience with the King of Kings? If you think you deserve God's blessing, if you think you deserve His ear, or if you've earned your right to be answered, that's scary business. But if you don't feel worthy, that means YOU have an audience and He bends low to hear you!

Ellen White writes:

"[Who] will gain a passport to the heavenly courts... the poor in spirit, who crave the presence of an abiding Christ, the humble in heart, whose highest ambition is to do God's will--these will gain an abundant entrance. They will be among that number who have washed their robes and made them white in the blog of the Lamb."(Desire of Ages, p. 301)

I guess we can't emphasize this topic enough... Oh Lord, forgive us for our proud spirit, for our false humility. Give us hearts after You. Give us true humility!

[Apologies for the late postings. It seems these last few weeks I've been struggling getting my Bible blogging posts up on time! This is the last month and I want to finish strong, so I'm sorry for dropping the ball on this... May God help us to finish strong!]

Tomorrow's Reading: Hosea 9-10 and Revelation 2
