Attention Readers - Feedback needed!

Hi Friends and Blog readers,

I honestly don't know how many of you are out there reading this, either directly or by e-mails in your inbox. My New Year's resolution is what got this ball rolling, and that was to write or share a devotional thought every day. But I'm considering breaking that resolution and cutting back to one post a week. Either that, or keeping the thoughts more short each day. Does it make a difference to all of you??

If you have input or would like to let me know your preference or wish in this matter, I'd love some feedback. Please leave comments in the box below! :-)

Hope you have a great weekend!

  1. I enjoy your posts everyday. If you need to cut back you could consider once a week and if time permits you could do shorter ones during the week.

    1. Well Lauren, we can be real-life friends. ;-) I don't want to post my e-mail here because of spammers… but it's simple: my name plus gmail. Drop me a line! ;-)

  3. Keep on going!!!! I think I've read almost all your morning thoughts and have been really blessed by them. I would miss it if you stopped, but I also understand if you are busy and need to cut back. I am thankful for the past 5+ months of wonderful, relevant, and timely Sonshine. ~Hannah Henry

    1. Thanks Hannah! You're always such an encouragement. Looking forward to seeing you this summer. ;-) And I may be writing more Morning Sonshine's in advance, but I will keep trying to post something each day.

  4. Ok let't try this again Melody! I wrote to you a post and well...this computer is nothing but my worst technical hated enemy! ANYWAY! As for your daily devotional---it is something I look forward to daily! This blog is such a great blessing to me! I thank you so much for all the time and effort you have put into this! Overall, it is not your blog, it is the Lord's!

BUT Melody, as a child who doesn't always know or understand the wisdom of God, I can not tell you how to handle your future postings! Because I am not the Holy Spirit. There are strangers who are either Christians of other faiths or non believers who are reading your daily postings. I know they are richly blessed and God is glorified. YET I can not tell you to keep posting or go ahead and post once a week. It is not my duty to do such a thing. BUT I can give you some suggestions for you to think about and base your decision on.

Number 1-- Is the time and effort you put into this devotional day by day enriching your experience with Christ? Are you drawing closer to the Savior, learning more about yourself and Him through these daily postings?

Number 2-- Are the daily postings taking you away from spending quality time with God, family, and friends? Are you able to take care of yourself and do your job in the many ministries you are involved in without jeopardizing your health?

Number 3-- Is there a friend or family member or two who have the same mindset and goals you have for this blog who you can take turns with posting gems day by day?

Number 4-- Will posting once a week give you more time to do or to catch up on that either needs to get done or has been neglected?

Number 5-- Will it be more of a blessing to you (to others) and less stressful for you to blog once a week?

Overall, it is your call. I know God is using your daily devotional to reach the cyber world. If you have a friend or family member who can help you by posting once or twice a week, I think it will help you in a long run. But consider what I have said above and pray about it. I will pray too. Once a week is just as good as a posting once a day. May God show you what He would have you do.

Whatever you decide to do, it will be just as good! God works in amazing ways! He can work through a posting a day or a posting a week, God is not limited! Remember my suggestions and I will pray with you (so will the others, I am sure)!

    1. Excellent wisdom! Thanks for sharing!!! The reason I asked for feedback is because I'm under some writing deadlines at the moment, as I'm working on a book, and have wondered if I should cut back on the daily blog to give myself more time (it does take a bit of time, although not tons)…. besides it was mostly started as my own personal challenge. But you and others, I think, have convicted me to keep sharing. :-)) Although I may start writing more posts in advance (I've already done this some) so that I don't have to get on the Internet everyday. (Anyway, at the end of this year, I may reconsider, but for now… I think we will seek to keep posting!) Thanks again for the excellent words of wisdom and reminding me again, this isn't mine anyway, it's Gods. What does HE want me to do! :-))) Blessings to you!

  6. I tried to write a letter to you in April sharing how the lord has been using you..here is the letter. Your blogs are a blessing. I wrote this few months back after my mother passed away and i was lead to your blog entitled the Big dipper.
    Dear Melody,

I hope this message finds its way to you . I stumbled upon your two blogs first. melodious blessings and then morning son-shine, I tried finding an email address to have conversation with you as a few of your posts God has used in a very special way the last 12 hours. I am a follower of Jesus, I have been since 1977 ..I am Jewish and my whole family accepted the lord through my mothers illness...she waited for me to accept.. praying for me ... and of course I am now a believer in the power of prayer. Back to your blog...my sweet mother in law was rushed to the Emergency room yesterday afternoon at age 95..long story short... within a few hours the Critical care ICU dr recommended we not try heroic feats and make her comfortable , she was sent to hospice upstairs.. a morphine pump and prayer..I can home at midnight..exhausted, and with my husband not certain that this was the right choice..the drs said all the meds ivs fluids would make her suffering worse... so i prayed... as the dr said it would take up to three days for my mother in law to pass... but they couldnt be certain..how long. I pleated as i feel asleep last night for the lord to have mercy..and gently take her to heavens glory. I briefly shut my eyes and the phone rang... my sister in law had spend the night at the hospital and was calling to share of her passing around 330 am... there was a permeable peace that flooded our bedroom.. however neither my husband or myself could fall back to sleep..i started to dose..and i heard the gentle still voice.. go look out the window..huh..go look out the window... i did..i saw nothing.. no..go look at the side window.. i drugged out the bedroom.. opened the window and there i saw in all its glory the brightest big dipper i have even seen. From a window in my house.. never before has that happened... ok lord the big dipper ..but what does that mean?? i got back in bed... i thought about the heavens declaring his goodness..and then i heard... though annoitest my head with oil and my cup runneth over...ahhh the big dipper is a ladel..the cup of blessings... i woke my husband up..go look out the window.. and he did..i said..in the morning the lord will speak to us... and he is such a cool God..I found my way to your blog..your entry oct 23..my mothers birthday by the way..and I read your entry about the big dipper.. chills... is all I can say..peace... awesomeness...then i was attempting to find you to have conversation, and i found your other blog morning sonshine..and what do i find as yesterdays post.. april 6.. heaven..april 7 heaven... as my mother in law enters those pearly gates.. green meadows.. so much more to say but thank you for being open to the lord.. never doubt again when you write a post in your blog..someone out there in cyberspace... is being blessed ..I hope we can talk some time... GOd bless you .. Lisa Lysa246@aol.com

    1. Lisa - thanks soooooooooo much for sharing!! That was so encouraging for me to hear your story. I too, am sorry about your losing your mother-in-law. (As you probably read, I just lost my grandmother this past month as well!) But thankfully we do have the hope of a joyful reunion in Heaven some day! :-)

I never got your FB message, but I got this one now, and was really touched. I have just written you an e-mail, and we will have to become real-life friends…you and Lauren too! ;-) Thanks for sharing, and with the Lord's help, I will do my best to keep sharing and posting.

PS: Since I was impacted by seeing the "big dipper" in the sky, I've never looked at the night sky the same. I'm always looking for that BIG DIPPER! ;-))))))

  8. Hi, my sweet friend! I wanted to add that I am always blessed by you posts as well. I receive them by email and I always look forward to reading them. To me they are fresh and inspiring and, of course, I always enjoy reading about what's going on in your life. :-) I also appreciate their length - not too long and not too short. :D I would understand if you needed to cut back some, but it sounds like they're being a blessing to a lot of people. I'm sure that there are a lot of people who haven't commented for whatever reason, but who also appreciate your blog. :-) Love and hugs!!!
