His Love Overflows

"...I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness." Jeremiah 31:3

I remembered, one day, listening to a lady tell me her life story.  It was a story full of pain and hurt.  She was mistreated by those who were suppose to protect her.  She was betrayed, rejected, and taken advantage of.  She had a long harsh life.

How do you explain God's love to someone who have experienced so much?  How can you describe a loving God to someone whose father was abusive towards them?

To many, God is like the very ones who hurt them emotionally, physically, and verbally.  To many people God is like those who have judge, condemn, and thrown them away like trash.  To some, God can not be trusted...

How do you explain to someone who has lived or is living through hell about the goodness and love of the Lord?  Your words, behavior, and actions.  Think about it.

Of course you are unable, of yourself, to do good or behavior righteously because we are full of sin and self.  The only way we can show Jesus to the hurting and the doubtful is by daily abiding in Jesus and letting Him live through you.

"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16
